Dear Parents: Tip #3

Healthy Eating Strategy #3:

Establish regular meals and snack times beginning when your child is 9-12 months old!

A great way to start this off is by giving your child/children key words they need to understand the connection between hunger and eating. So for example, if your son shows he is hungry, you might say: "You're hungry, aren't you? Ok, it's time to eat!" By doing this, your child/children will be able to associate their feelings of hunger with the act of eating at regular times across the day.

Get Fit with Me

General Nutrients:

Nutrients are substances in food on which the body depends for proper functioning.

There are six classes of nutrients. This week's nutrient is CARBOHYDRATES!

Carbohydrates provide much of the energy needed for physical activity and organ function. Carbohydrates are also necessary for the normal metabolism of fat. In the absence of carbohydrates, larger amounts of fat are used for energy than the body is able to handle.

Not getting enough of some nutrients can lead to health problems as can getting too much of other nutrients.

Inspirational Message

Time For a Change
And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me – she gave me [fruit] from the tree, and I ate. And the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled (cheated, outwitted, and deceived) me, and I ate.
                                                                                               –GENESIS 3:12-13
Prayer
“Lord, I’m sick of the blame game in relationships, and I know the solution starts with my taking responsibility for what I do I can’t change others, but I can change me. Amen.
                                                                                                - Joyce Meyer

Assume the Position!

Bridge

The Bridge position is similar to the Arch position, but with the receiver’s arms behind/below them to hold their upper body up off the bed, floor, or couch, while their partner enters from a kneeling position.

This position does add some additional difficulty to the fun and does take some body strength from both parties.

If you are bored or tired of the traditional positions, this can add a little more flavor to your love making.

Enjoy!!!

Dear Parents: Tip #2

Healthy Eating Strategy #2:

Create routines around mealtime!

Creating routines can help make children feel loved and secure. This could also contribute to your child/children being excited or looking forward to each meal spent in the home. For example, saying a blessing or grace before the meals as part of your family tradition. Some could even incorporate sharing something special about your day before each meal or during.

H-Town- Your Body Intro

H-Town hit the scene in 1993 with the all time favorite hit Kockin' Da Boots from their debut album Fever for Da Flavor. In 2004 they released Imitations of Life where you can find this sexy intro. Dino's voice is just amazing....yep, I could listen to him sing to me all day!

This is just a great way to start off you love making CD and get the mood going. I can't even say I have a favorite part/section of this intro because I LOVE the whole thing! The words, the music, the runs...everything about it is GREAT!!
