General Nutrients

Nutrients are substances in food on which the body depends for proper functioning.

There are six classes of nutrients. This week's nutrient is WATER!

Water is the largest single component of the body. Muscle holds the highest concentration of water while fat tissue holds some of the lowest amounts.

Water has a variety of functions that are essential to life...it acts as a transport medium for nutrients, aids in digestion and elimination, and directly maintains body temperature.

Not getting enough of some nutrients can lead to health problems as can getting too much of other nutrients.

Dear Parents: Tip #1

Healthy Eating Strategy #1:

Meals are about more than just food!

This is the perfect time to connect and interact with your child/children and support their overall development. You will have the opportunity to talk with your child/children during meals in the home. Try to limit the times you let your child/children eat alone. This will help build stronger family relationships that can and will have a huge impact on their lives.

Top 10 Countdown #1

Tank-Slowly

So we finally made it to #1 with Slowly by Tank!!!!! First can we say Tank looks GREAT to the 1920th power! He is sexy...O.M.G. and those lips...WOW! Durrell Babbs the great R&B singer, songwriter and producer started his career singing background for Ginuwine. In 2001, he released Force of Nature where you can find Slowly as the #9 track.

I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it! I would have to say my favorite part of the song is the breakdown:

Come on in
Close the door
Take off your clothes
Drink so more
Holding you close
Holding you tight
Making love through the night

But I guess I could add in the second verse because it is pretty sexy too!

Slip it off yea
Show big daddy what he’s been missing
Want you to feel right
When I’m kissing when I’m missing
Really really wanna take my time
With you pretty baby
If you don’t mind
Love you all night long

But that DARN breakdown all the way to the end of the song.....*blank stare*

Who wouldn't want to make love to this song!!!

Assume the Position!

Downstroke

The Downstroke is a variation of the Deep Stick position, but a little easier as the giver crouches by the side of the bed or couch in order to line up more easily with the receiver.

To achieve the Downstroke, the receiver lies on their back with their legs resting on the shoulders of the giver, who enters from a standing position. However, due to the positioning of the giver, this variation is not as intimate as the Deep Stick or its other variation Deep Impact!

Again, a must try! It will take some leg and arm strength from the giver and some flexibility from the receiver depending on how long the two of you can hang.

Try it and have fun!!!!

Sports Talk: Penn State

WOW…so the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal has really SHOCKED Penn State. Almost 48 hours ago NCAA president Mark Emmert announced some devastating and hard blow sanctions against the Penn State’s football program.

·         $60M fine and vacate all wins from 1998-2011
·         4-year football postseason ban
·         Significant loss of scholarships
·         Players can transfer without penalty

Jerry Sandusky has put this institutions reputation to shame! The fact that he hurt/violated some many people over the years and used his power/position to do so really makes things worse. But when this whole tragedy broke, I was one of those Jo Pa supporters trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Not wanted to believe that he would let something like this happen. I have been a HUGE college football fan and grew up knowing Joe Paterno as the face of Penn State football; he was Penn State Football!!! *#Fact* I have watched him coach, interact with his players, staff, and contribute to the Penn State community…no way would this man let something like this happen on his watch. But knowing that he knew it happened and he didn’t do enough to the full extent to stop it or let Sandusky go has really changed my outlook on the man I knew as a great coach! If you think about it, Jo Pa had sooo much power at that university but he did little and let it go!
There’s a part of me that says, the penalties were not enough…maybe a slap on the wrist! We (The Ohio State University) got 2 years and whatever else for tattoos and this is all they are getting for hiding a pervert in their program for years! Now don’t get me wrong, they did get raped and maybe that should not be the word of choice considering the crime, but I wouldn’t say they got the death penalty!
On the other hand it is a little sad for the players who had absolutely nothing to do with this who will have to suffer! Yes, the players will be allowed to transfer out if they choose, but it sucks for them because there was a reason why they made the final choice to attend and play for Penn State. Some may say they can go somewhere else and start over. But, if Penn State recruited me as their QB and promised me that I would be starting this season as where let’s just say University of Florida wanted to recruit me as their 3rd string…why not go to Penn State! So, no matter my reasons for choosing Penn State, that’s the institution I chose to be a part of as a person, student and athlete…all the players are getting screwed over a scandal they knew nothing about. Then having to vacate all those hard earned wins all the players busted their butts for over the years because the university cared more about the reputation then their community just sucks. Yeah, they could all say we won those games and that really can’t be taken away from us…but in all reality it has!
The sad part about this is it may only get worse before it can get better for all parties involved.

Bad Habit

When you caught my eye sometime ago, I was unaware that you would continue to linger through my body as you have. I decided to sample you and what you had to offer. You entered my life and I did not know what to except. I took you in as something for the moment not realizing that you would become a habit; a bad habit that I find myself engaging in on a regular bases. Our first encounter was slow, soothing, and enlighten. And the next few encounters would carry the same characteristics. As time went on and the encounters became more frequent and comfortable, the need for you became more and more intense.

You became something I wanted and felt as though I needed once or twice a week physically and everyday mentally and emotionally. A bad habit that was getting worse but very much desired. As my need for you increased, I begun to since the feeling was mutual…

With that heavy desire that has grown, it has also brought on the realization that you are a habit that I will never fully get to enjoy the way my mind and body prefers. Should that knowledge make me not constantly want to surround myself with everything about you?

In reality, I have no future plans or thoughts of pulling myself away from you unless you become harmful to my health or begin to interfere in my life goals…

Until then, I will continue to embrace the fact that you are this bad habit that I cannot and don’t want to shake.

Don't Quit!

Sometime we all need a little motivation just to make it through the day, week, month, year, or life!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Assume the Position!

69-Standing
So, unless your partner CAN squat the same weight as you, this may NOT be the position at this time! *Disclaimer*

To accomplish the Standing 69 position, the lifting partner needs a lot of strength and a little bit of patience. The lifter should start from the Sitting 69 position, sitting down in a fairly high chair or bed and help the partner get into the position, with the lifted partner placing their head between the lifter’s legs (HEEEY), while wrapping their own legs loosely around the lifter’s neck and shoulders, and the arms tightly around the lifter’s back.

With all that being said, the lifting partner wraps their own arms tightly around the back of their partner and stands up carefully. PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that the lifting partner pays close attention to the partner’s head and neck so they don’t get knocked out in the process of SUPER DUPER UBER excitement.

Fun times!!!!!

Stop Pretending

So Abram said to Lot, Let there be no strife, I beg of you, between you and me, or between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are relatives. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself, I beg of you, from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right.

Top 10 Countdown #4

Intro-Come Inside

Intro hit the scene in 1993 with Clinton “Buddy” Wike, Jeff Sanders and Kenny Greene (deceased, 2001). Come Inside was probably their BIGGEST hit in ‘93’ featuring Sabrina Morrison on vocals. So of course I have to give you my favorite verse in this song. Well…I have a favorite verse and bridge!!!
Verse:
Baby just imagine I can do anything you please
I’ll set your body on fire, or soothe your soul with ease
Just a kiss, I'll taste your sweet sweet lips
All of the passion I have inside of me
I know you won't forget no baby

Bridge:
Let me rub you down
(Let me caress you all over your body, baby)
Move in closer now
(Feel my nature rise)
Hold on tight and don't don't let go
Coming home together baby

I just LOVE Kenny’s voice!!!!!! And if you haven’t heard the extended version with the extra talking and music…I suggest you do so ASAPually!!!

Sports Talk: BCS Playoffs

It’s official, last month the conference commissioners met with the committee of university presidents and chancellors to approve the four-team seeded playoff beginning at the end of the 2014 season. This will consist of two semifinal games in bowls and a national championship game that will be put up for bid. Good move or not?!?!? I am a SUPER DUPER URBER HUGE fan of college football! I have no problem with the way the game is played and how the championship game is decided. With this change/system being put into place, the college football is looking at a serious facelift!
This is been something that the world has been debating on for years. Every sport known to man has some type of playoff system except college football.
So as of now you will have 4 teams, 1 title. The semifinals will be played New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. This will make for a Championship game played on Monday in January, six or more days after the final semifinal. What does this mean for the bowls? Well, the semifinals will rotate among six bowl sites; the championship game will be bid upon separately and will not be branded as a bowl game.
It will be up to the selection committee to rank the teams to play in the playoff. The contributing factors will be win-loss records, strength of schedules, head-to-head results and conference championships.
I am sure between now and the end of the 2014 season there is a lot of work to be done on this new system. Being a Buckeye and in the Big Ten family, talk has come about concerning the impact on the Rose Bowl (Big Ten/Pac-12). But from what I have been hearing the only guarantee is when the champions will meet comes when neither qualifies for the playoff and the Rose is not hosting a semifinal…meaning that both teams likely having multiple losses. But this means that these 2 conferences are still automatically locked into this bowl no matter what. Another possible issue is for example, if Ohio State wins the conference, they would be qualified to play in the Rose. Well is they are one of the teams in the four-team playoff, the Big Ten would just send a back-up team to be the Big Ten’s representative. So I guess Big Ten Nation and Pac-12 Nation will have to wait and see what happens!
But honestly, this is not the only situation like this. You have the ACC (Orange Bowl), Big 12 (Champions Bowl), and SEC (Champions Bowl). So the question is, is this really any different from the old system when it comes to automatic bids?

Assume the Position!

Kneeling Lotus

The Kneeling Lotus is another form of the Jellyfish position and is very similar to the regular Lotus position, with one obvious difference.
To accomplish this position, the giver kneels back while the receiver sits into their lap facing them and slides down. The receiver wraps their legs around the giver; both wrap their arms around each other for support. This will provide a good angle and body support for penetration.
The giver and receiver then sets up a rocking (fluid) motion to gain movement during the penetration. Keep in mind leg strength maybe required for both parties depending on how long you want to perform!
Let the fun begin!!!

Refuse to Live in Fear

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and carrying and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.                                                                                      -2 TIMOTHY 1:7

“Lord, I put my faith in You, and I refuse to live my life in fear. I will not run and hide when I feel afraid, but I will draw closer to You and triumph over it. Amen.”                                 -Joyce Meyer
